Valentine’s Day can hold a different meaning for different people; some utilise the occasion to invest in their relationship, many celebrate the love in their life and others write it off as fluffy commercialisation.
But this year we launched our 'Be a Braveheart Campaign' which encouraged people in Gloucestershire and Swindon to offer a gesture of love to their secret crush this Valentine’s Day.
Years ago Valentine’s Day was more associated with the notion of ‘secret admirers’ than it is nowadays. There was usually a buzz over whether one had unexpectedly received a gift or card, sometimes completely oblivious to who it might be from, but this tradition seems to have increasingly diminished over the years. Valentine’s Day now tends to be associated with existing relationships, which is obviously tremendous but it could also be the perfect time to begin new love ventures.
